The second weekend of the 2018  World Cup is left behind with foreigner fans saved Russians, politically provocative gestures and more. 

German fan saved the life of a moped driver

On June 23, an accident occurred near the Fisht stadium in Sochi. The man on the moped turned left at the crossroads when he was hit by a car.

He was seriously injured and his heart stopped. The help came  – the German fan, Kevin Mayer, who arrived in Sochi for the match “Germany-Sweden”, made an indirect heart massage and artificial respiration for the victim, and he survived.

This helped him live until an ambulance arrived, and he was taken to the hospital. “German fan saved the life of a moped driver, who got in a serious accident,” is written on the Russia-based Twitter profile.

Colombia fans pulled a resident of Kazan from the river

After the match between Colombia and Japan, held in Kazan, the local resident undressed and decided to jump into the river, and began to sink.

Nearby there were three fans from Colombia! They rushed to save the man and dragged him out of the water with a long hose!

American gave the Russian fan his wheelchair

The founder of the fund for helping people with disabilities came to Moscow from the USA – specifically for the .

A man born in Mexico lost the opportunity to walk after the accident at the age of 27 and uses a wheelchair. At the match, he saw a Russian with a disability, whose wheelchair looked old and broken – and decided to give him his own, $10,000 modern wheelchair.

He explained that insurance in the United States allows people to leave their old wheelchairs when they are changed to new ones – and they simply do not need as many wheelchairs.

FIFA investigating politically provocative gestures

The FIFA opened an investigation for two football players from Switzerland, Granit Xhaka and Xherdan Shaqiri, They determined the result of the match with Serbia, scoring two goals (the match ended with a score of 2: 1 in favor of Switzerland).

The goals scored by Xhaka and Shaqiri were celebrated by crossing their arms so that this gesture resembled a double-headed eagle depicted on the flag of Albania.

Fans of the national team of Serbia booed the Swiss players. In connection with the behaviour of Serbian fans, an investigation has also been launched.
