- Queen Elizabeth II’s cousin, Lord Ivar Mountbatten, 55, will soon become the first gay member of the Royal family to marry his partner. He will marry James Coyle in a lavish royal ceremony.
- Lord Ivar Mountbatten was previously married to a woman named Penny, with whom he had three daughters.
- He came out in 2016, becoming the first member of the royal family to do so.
- He reportedly told Penny before their engagement that he was bisexual, as reported by E! News.
- In fact, Penny will walk Lord Mountbatten down the aisle on his wedding day. “It makes me feel quite emotional. I’m really very touched,” she was quoted as saying by Daily Mail.
- The wedding ceremony will be held at a private chapel in Devon and will reportedly have 120 guests in attendance.
- The couple, however, might not enjoy a wedding cake. “We’ll probably have cheese instead of cake,” said Lord Ivar Mountbatten.
