Any car is not just four wheels and a steering wheel. The operation of any vehicle is provided by numerous systems and mechanisms that perform various functions. Read our article to find out interesting information about the systems without which the functioning of a modern car is impossible.

As everyone knows, cars are driven by an engine. That’s where mechanical energy comes from. Currently, the most common type of engine for vehicles is an internal combustion engine.

Many motorists mistakenly believe that the operation of the engine is almost independent of other systems. In fact, problems await the driver if the cooling system or the lubrication system does not perform its functions properly. Only the joint precise operation of all these components ensures constant rotation of the crankshaft and a number of other elements, from which the car can start and drive.

Engine problems are one of the most unpleasant breakdowns you can encounter. If you doubt that the system is in normal working condition, try a vin decoder or visit a mechanic who will professionally inspect the vehicle.

The electrical system ensures the proper operation of the headlights, the operation of the radio, but these are far from the most basic tasks.  The most important mission is to ignite the fuel in the cylinders, without which it is impossible to start the engine. The most famous elements of the electrical system are the battery, generator, starter and ignition system.

Some motorists may disparage the contribution of the exhaust system to the operation of the vehicle. It is in vain to think so, since its merit consists in the safe removal of exhaust gases for the driver and passengers. As you know, when burning fuel, quite dangerous substances are formed that pose a threat to the environment, as well as those that can harm the engine. Therefore, the better the exhaust system works, the more likely it is that the neutralizer will have time to convert dangerous gases into the least harmful forms.

The need for a braking system is obvious. It allows you to safely stop the car both in front of a traffic light and in emergency situations to avoid a collision. In order to distinguish between these two functions, hydraulic and mechanical braking systems are separately called.

To feel safe on the road, you also need a suspension and steering system. The suspension helps the vehicle to maintain balance during turns and other maneuvers, and also protects a significant part of the car from a possible impact. Steering is designed to help the driver guide the vehicle along the chosen trajectory without spending extra effort.

These are not all the systems that are in the vehicle. You can also name the drive and transmission, the fuel system, as well as other elements. It is important to understand that the machine resembles a complex organism, where each component part depends on the work of the other parts. Therefore, maintenance and repair need a comprehensive approach from the driver.
