AI has gained new opportunities and will be able to search for people with suicidal intentions around the world. Users will not be able to turn off the technology that monitors posts and video calls.

In Facebook post,CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated the system reads the user’s messages and watches them on Live.

If it detects signs identified as “suicidal thoughts,” these messages will be redirected to specially trained moderators, who can contact the user.

Maybe it will help millions of people, but there is a possibility that it’s just an official way to read our private messages. Zuckerberg stated in the last month alone, the new feature had helped the users more than 100 times.

2. launched Mentorship and Support

Mentors and mentees will be able to connect with each other and get advices. Due to privacy policy, Mentorship and Support feature will only be available to 18 years old or older users.

3. YouTube’s “Reels” aka Stories

“Reels” will allow users to create 30 seconds videos and add text, music, stickers, filters and other effects.

“Reels” video format will become part of the YouTube Community and will only be available to channels with more than 10,000 subscribers.

“Reels”, or stories, on YouTube will not disappear in a day, as it happens with the stories in Instagram, Snapchat, WhatsApp, and other services.

4. Snapchat redesign

The main change of Snapchat’s design is the separate fields for friends’ posts and media materials and partners.

Major changes:

  • On the left: the posts of friends
  • On the right: Discover section with an endless feed of news and publications.
  • Unread messages and other items from your closest friends will appear on the top of the feed.

The updated version of Snapchat isn’t available to every user now, but within a few weeks, all users will experience new convenient interface.

5. Instagram tested four new updates

According to TNW, Instagram is testing new interesting features:

  • Search for GIFs to add them to Stories via Giphy
  • Sharing to WhatsApp
  • the ability to follow specific hashtags
  • “Archiving” of Stories
