Extraterrestrial Life Ends: One More $100,000 Kickstarter Failure

Tabby’s Star was the center of the investigation for the past few years. Astronomers claimed the star might be an alien megastructure.

See what they have learned.

An astronomer Tabetha Boyajian of Louisiana in US stated Tabby’s Star, called KIC 8462852, “changes” the color because of dust.

“Dust is most likely the reason why the star’s light appears to dim and brighten,” said Boyajian,  “The new data show that different colors of light are being blocked at different intensities.”

Previously, it was considered an extraterrestrial being that can move and is going to destroy the life in the universe.

The star is located at a distance of 1500 light years from the Earth and its temperature is slightly higher than the Sun’s.

The author of the study, Tabetha Boyajian, emphasized that such a star can be easily confused with an alien megastructure.

For instance, the space object is new for the space explorers and isn’t similar to the objects they have seen before.

Tabby’s Star has other physical properties and thus predict the trajectory of its movement is impossible.

The astronomers have been watching this star for about 100 years. During this period, it darkened by 20%, but only now it was possible to fully determine the cause of this unusual phenomenon.

The mystery of Tabby’s Star was so intriguing that 1,700 people donated over $100,000 through a Kickstarter campaign in order to help gather more data and prove the existence of extraterrestrial life.

The astronomers were eager to learn what is so special about this star and conducted a huge number of analyses and experiments.

People are still dying to know how to send a message to the stars or communicate with aliens, but, please, don’t be a victim of hype and try not to waste your money on such start-ups.
