‘The Woman Who Fell to Earth’

‘The Woman Who Fell to Earth’ is the first episode of the 11th season. Nevertheless, it’s a clear start of the new  era that includes everything we love about the 55-year-old sci-fi show. Not everybody was happy about the first ever female Doctor, but after seeing the first episode, we can say for sure – Jodie Whittaker is just brilliant.

The episode was a perfect debut for her. Jodie wears cropped blue culottes with yellow braces, rainbow-striped dark blue T-shirt with the long pale-colored trench coat.Fans also found a similarity to other universes’ characters as Doctor’s new look featured some elements from other Time Lords.

TAKE A QUIZ

New head writer – fresh view on things

Even though the head writer/executive producer has changed – now the series is led by Chris Chibnall – there’s no way we would doubt that Jodie Whittaker is THE Doctor. At the same time, it’s a great opportunity to start from scratch and fulfill new ideas and elaborate cool plot twists.

The first episode is more about to introduce a new angle of the show, meet new characters and change the direction of the events.

What we learned about new friends

Chris Chibnall decided to introduce three Doctor’s companions to the show. So new companions  friends of the Thirteenth Doctor are: Graham, a near-national cheeky chappie treasure Bradley Walsh neglecting The Chase. In the teaser trailer, we can see Graham is seeing eyeing up battered sausages in the chippy.

Yasmin: talented Hollyoaks alumni Mandip Gill. The character takes delivery of a deep-dish pizza in the teaser trailer.

Ryan: known for his roles in The Cut, EastEnders: E20 and Hollyoaks – Tosin Cole. Ryan appears tucking into a Full English in the teaser.

Timing

The episode lasts for more than an hour, but it still wasn’t enough to learn about new friends of or to understand the plot completely. It’s probably because it doesn’t get the balance right all of the time.

However, we still have a lot to catch. Chibnall prepared for us a journey of 10 episodes, and fans all over the world are ready to dive into it starting this Sunday!

Chris Chibnall added: “New Doctor, new home! Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor is about to burst into Sunday nights — and make the end of the weekend so much more exciting.”

Watched the first episode, it was a surprisingly dull one. Got bored less than half way through.
