Flu Epidemic
Influenza is active in all states except the Hawaiian Islands, according to data from the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention, CNN reports.
The epidemic started with the H3N2 virus strain, which is known to cause more hospitalizations and more deaths.
“Hopefully we’re at the peak now, but until we see it go down for a couple of weeks we won’t know that we have reached peak yet,” said Lynnette Brammer, the head of the CDC’s Domestic Flu Surveillance team.
“Some areas of the country may have, but I think some areas are probably still going up,” added Brammer.
You can compare two flu maps and see that influenza virus took over the whole country in a month.

How to deal with the illness
To prevent flu, the CDC recommends people over age 65, children under age 2 get a flu shot or pneumonia vaccination.
Another important rule in case you get sick is to stay at home as your friends and colleagues might be at risk to get a virus too.
While you at home, drink a lot of water and stay in bed. You cannot cure the flu as it’s a virus, you can only take some measures and feel better.
For instance, it’s recommended calling your doctor that will offer some pills to take over the phone or ask you to come to their hospital.
Also, during the illness, people usually take Ibuprofen and Tamiflu to ease a headache and reduce other symptoms.
