Later in a statement to Express.co.uk a Facebook spokesperson said: “We have restored service for those who experienced a technical issue that caused some people to have trouble accessing Facebook on Android.”
Recently, The UK’s data protection association announced they are going to fine Facebook £500,000 ($664,000) for Cambridge Analytica data breaches. The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) stated social media network, Facebook, had failed to provide the evidence that Cambridge Analytica got rid of users’ data. “This potentially brings into question the accuracy of the deletion certificates provided to Facebook,” said an ICO representative.
ICO is especially concerned about the political parties buying UK citizen’s data from such websites as Emma’s Diary (used by the Labour Party) and Aggregate IQ (the Vote Leave campaign). Moreover, ICO is going to bring a criminal action against SCL Elections, Cambridge Analytica’s parent company.
