On November 13, representatives of the European Union and the United Kingdom agreed on the final text of the Brexit agreement. It was noted that the text of the agreement was finished at the “technical level” after the negotiations.

In particular, the parties reached a preliminary agreement to resolve the problem of the border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

British Minister for Northern Ireland Shailesh Vara said he did not agree with the draft agreement on the withdrawal of Great Britain from the European Union, and therefore resigns.

He has written on his Twitter profile, “With much sadness and regret I have submitted my letter of resignation as a Northern Ireland Minister to the Prime Minister. A copy of my letter is attached. It has been a joy and privilege to serve in the Northern Ireland Office and I will always cherish the fondest memories.”

Shailesh Vara also shared a photo of an official document saying that he resigning as British Minister for Northern Ireland.

Recently, Boris Johnson has resigned as foreign secretary, becoming the third minister in 24 hours to walk out of the government rather than back Theresa May’s plans for a soft Brexit, according to The Guardian.

A Downing Street spokesman stated: “This afternoon, the prime minister accepted the resignation of Boris Johnson as foreign secretary. His replacement will be announced shortly. The prime minister thanks Boris for his work.”

Dominic Raab was appointed on 9 July as his replacement as David Davis resigned on 8 July 2018 shortly before midnight.

According to CNN, David Davis has resigned due to differences with Theresa May, Prime Minister.  He was responsible for handling the UK’s exit from the European Union. Two more ministers reported to have resigned in protest of Theresa May’s Brexit compromise – Steve Baker and Suella Braverman.

He told BBC Radio 4 he “proposed one approach, (May) chose another one that is more conciliatory to the EU. My fear is they’ll take what we’re offering and demand some more … We’re giving too much away, too easily, and that’s a dangerous strategy,” he stated.
