Recently, Brendan Fraser has come forward with his own story of sexual abuse in Hollywood – in his case, allegedly at the hands of Philip Berk, the former president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (the organization behind the Golden Globes).
Fraser details the incident, which took place during a 2003 HFPA luncheon, in an interview with GQ. As he and Berk shook hands, Fraser says, “His left hand reaches around, grabs my ass cheek, and one of his fingers touches me in the taint. And he starts moving it around.”
Fraser decided against going public with his accusation because “I didn’t want to contend with how that made me feel, or it becoming part of my narrative”.
Even now, in the thick of the #MeToo movement, Fraser admits he’s scared to share: “Am I still frightened? Absolutely. Do I feel like I need to say something? Absolutely. Have I wanted to many, many times? Absolutely. Have I stopped myself? Absolutely.”

James Van Der Beek added his name to the list of victims who survived sexual harassments when he said that he has “had [his] ass grabbed by older, powerful men” and understands the shame that any one of Weinstein’s alleged victims describes.
I’ve had my ass grabbed by older, powerful men, I’ve had them corner me in inappropriate sexual conversations when I was much younger…

I understand the unwarranted shame, powerlessness & inability to blow the whistle. There’s a power dynamic that feels impossible to overcome

In a series of 16 tweets, Terry Crews claimed that he himself was once a victim, too.
This whole thing with Harvey Weinstein is giving me PTSD. Why? Because this kind of thing happened to ME. (1/Cont.)

Crews told about the incident at a Hollywood party which he attended with his wife. He said that while at the function, a “high level” Hollywood executive came up to him and groped his private parts.
Crews, immediately startled, asked the exec what he was doing. He said the executive just grinned at him “like a jerk.”
Frustrated, Crews said his first instinct was to kick the executive’s ass, but he knew the optics on that wouldn’t be good.
“‘240 lbs. Black Man stomps out Hollywood honcho’ would be the headline the next day,” Crews wrote.
Crews said that rather than risk going to jail that night, he left the party with his wife instead.
The executive called him the next day to apologize, Crews said, but offered no explanation as to why he had grabbed Crews’ genitals in the first place.

In November 2014, actor Shia LaBeouf publicly claimed that he had been raped by a woman during his #IAMSORRY performance art project in February.
As part of the project, LaBeouf sat in a room with a bag over his head while visitors interacted with him. Some held his hand, some said disparaging things, and apparently, one person sexually assaulted him.
LaBeouf told Dazed Digital’s Aimee Cliff, “one woman who came with her boyfriend, who was outside the door when this happened, whipped my legs for ten minutes and then stripped my clothing and proceeded to rape me…”
