It wouldn’t be easy

Earlier Great Britain announced its decision to leave European Union, but they still need a way to connect to Europe. Boris Johnson offered one of the ways.

According to Huffpost,  British foreign secretary proposes to build a massive bridge from UK to France, however, analysts consider it from a sceptical side of the idea.

For now, England is connected to the southern neighbors only through Channel tunnel railway.

“We are two of the world’s greatest economies linked by a single railway,” Johnson  states. “It’s ridiculous.”

Boris Johnson has the supporters of this idea, and French president Emmanuel Macron is among these people.

He responded to the project announcement with the following words: “Let’s do it.”

Logistic issues

The width of the Channel varies from 150 miles to 20 miles, but still Johnson’s bridge is going to be the biggest one in the world, after Lake Pontchartrain Causeway (23.79 miles).

The narrowest part width of the Channel is at the the Strait of Dover, which a main shipping lane and it requires a bridge capable of accommodating the vessels passing through.

Previously, Boris Johnson proposed to build the Garden Bridge, but the idea was soon rejected. Also, recently, Peter Vesterbacka, the Angry Birds former marketing chief , announced his plan to build an underwater tunnel that will connect Helsinki and Tallinn.
