Once Upon a Time in … Hollywood

Here is how Tarantino describes Once Upon a Time in Hollywood: “A story that takes place in Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippy Hollywood. The two lead characters are Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), former star of a Western TV series, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt). Both are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don’t recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbor…Sharon Tate.”

According to the audience, the post-screening clapping clocked in at six-seven minutes.

Amy Kaufman wrote a tweet saying “Was the standing ovation 5:40 or 7:00?!?!?!?!?!? MAKES A HUGE DIFF OK”.

“WELL WAS IT A SIX-MINUTE STANDING OVATION OR A SEVEN-MINUTE STANDING OVATION?????” wrote another user.

 

The Lighthouse

Robert Eggers’s movie The Lighthouse stars Robert Pattinson, Willem Dafoe and is named one of the films that are worth seeing at this year’s Cannes.

It’s is a fantasy horror that is due to hit theaters later this year. Set in the world of ancient mariner myths, the film is about two beacon guards in Maine at the end of the 19th century that are falling into madness.

Little Joe

Little Joe is a Science Fiction movie drama of 2019, directed by Jessica Hausner. The world premiere of the film will take place on May 17, 2019, at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival, where it will take part in the main competition program for the Golden Palm.

Alice, the single mother, works as a senior breeder in a corporation engaged in the development of new species. Through breeding, she grows a special new plant, remarkable not only by its beauty but also its therapeutic properties: if it is stored at an ideal temperature, properly fed and talked with it regularly, this plant makes its owner happy.

 

Zombi Child

A French drama film directed by Bertrand Bonello that stars Louise Labeque, Wislanda Louimat, Mackenson Bijou.

The plot is set between a group of French schoolgirls currently and colonial Haiti in 1962, where a man is killed by magic and came back from as a zombi slave.
