The tech giant announced a number of updates and innovations at the press event that took place at 10 am PST on March 25 at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California.

Apple TV+ and channels 

Apple introduces long-rumored TV streaming and Apple News subscription services, which appeared in the media under the conditional name “Netflix for news”.

Apple service streaming television can be launched in May, according to The Verge. Support will expand to more than 100 countries.

The company will sell subscriptions to its own content, as well as TV shows and films produced by CBS, PBS, Acorn TV, and Tastemade, Viacom and Lionsgate. In addition, Apple is negotiating with HBO (“Game of Thrones”, “Real Detective”), which can be completed before the presentation.

Moreover, Apple has already spent two billion dollars in Hollywood to produce its own content.

 

Oprah to bring 2 documentaries 

The famous TV show host will be working on two documentaries – Toxic Labor about workplace harassment, and a series on mental health.

Oprah announced that she would take part in Apple TV production for “building the biggest, most vibrant, most stimulating book club on the planet… I want to literally convene a meeting of the minds connecting us through books.”

“There has never been a moment quite like this one,” Oprah said. “We have this unique opportunity to rise to our best selves in how we use and choose to use both our technology and our humanity.”

Reese Witherspoon, Steven Spielberg, Jason Momoa, Steve Carell, Alfre Woodard, Sesame Street’s Big Bird, and Kumail Nanjiani were also present at the event.

 

Apple Arcade

The “world’s first gaming subscription for mobile, desktop and living room,” is introduced by Apple.

You will be able to play games that are included in the App Store across all devices – iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and a Mac computer – for a reasonable fee that wasn’t disclosed.

 

Apple News Plus

The news subscription service will be integrated into Apple News and is based on the Texture application, which allows you to subscribe to more than 300 magazines for a subscription fee – $9.99.

The first month is free and the price covers family expenses. Also, now it is available only in the US and Canada.

The number of digital magazines includes The Wall Street Journal and Los Angeles Times.

 

Apple Card

The company announced the launch of Apple Card as a partnership with Mastercard and Goldman Sachs. It doesn’t even have a credit card number, CVV, signature, or expiration date.

In case, you want to buy something from the site that doesn’t support Apple Card, you can generate the data.

Apple also announced updates to Apple Pay, including integrations with transit systems in several cities, including New York City and Portland.
