Apex Legends is growing player numbers faster than FortniteÂ
EA and Respawn’s new battle royale and Fortnite’s enemy – Apex Legends – is growing players much faster than Fortnite did on its 2017 launch.
What’s Apex Legends anyway? It’s quite similar to any Battle Royale, however, it has some significant perks that distinguish it among other game of this genre.
The game is a multiplayer-only free-to-play Battle Royale developed by Respawn and launched on 4 February with almost any promo made beforehand.
Nevertheless, this spin-off from Titanfall games has already reached 50 million registered players with 1 million in just 8 hours.
According to Analyst at Niko Partners, Ahmad, it makes Apex Legends much more popular game than Fortnite was after its launch.
Roundhill Investments posted the graph showing Apex’s player numbers in the white and Fortnite’s in green.
Looking at this picture, it became clear that Apex had a more successful launch than its opponent.
Also, Respawn CEO Vince Zampella has tweeted a video in honor to Apex Legends’ 50 million registered players.
One of the Twitter users commented, “I remember Fortnite having a rough start because people thought it was just a cartoonish carbon copy of PUBG that no one needed. But Apex Legends is really nailing it, improving on stuff others don’t do as good of a job with.”
Thank you to the 50 million players that have shown up in the first month since Apex Legends launched! You have all made this something special and there's much more to come! pic.twitter.com/EoDcjF5q9E
