Sometimes you just know something is going to happen. Sometimes it’s a small thing like you know you’ll get that iPhone as a birthday gift, but sometimes people predict unbelievable things.

Nexter.org prepared you a list of 8 times celebs predicted something and it actually came true.

Tom Hanks

An 18-year-old Hanks watched The Sting movie one day and decided to write a letter to Oscar-winning director George Roy Hill, asking him to “discover” him as an actor. “My looks are not stunning. I am not built like a Greek God, and I can’t even grow a mustache, but I figure if people will pay to see certain films … They will pay to see me.” Oh, the will, Tom, they will.

He also wrote, “Mr. Hill, I do not want to be some bigtime, Hollywood superstar with girls crawling all over me, just a hometown American boy who has hit the big-time, owns a Porsche, and calls Robert Redford ‘Bob.'” And the only thing that didn’t come true is the Porsche situation. Apparently, his tastes just changed over time.

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian was born to be famous and she knew it. An eighth-grade graduation party 13-year-old Kim she spoke directly into a camera saying “remember me when I’m famous.” She also said she’s “dope on a rope.” And, yeah, that one is also true.

Jimmy Fallon

In a sketch on SNL in 1998, Jimmy Fallon who then was just a “featured performer” (which basically means a nobody) told Alec Baldwin that he will become a big star by 2011 and Fallon himself will host SNL. And well, we all know that came true.

In 2008 Justin was asked about where he saw his career going and he replied, “I see myself doing more, like, R&B, sort of like Usher or Justin [Timberlake] like, an old Michael Jackson.” So, he got the music right.

Kevin Smith

One day Smith and Ben Affleck were joking around when Ben remarked that according to Kevin’s writing he could play a doctor. Smith said, “But you couldn’t be Batman.” But Affleck showed them. Right?

Alec Guinness

In July 2017, Hollywood Reporter found an old interview Guinness gave in 1977 on the BBC’s Parkinson Talk Show. He said that James Dean invited him to the restaurant on September 23, 1955, but before they went inside, Dean showed Guinness his new car. To the question, if he’d ever driven it before, Dean admitted he had not. According to Guinness, at that point, “Some strange thing came over me. … I said … ‘Please do not get into that car, because if you do … by 10 o’clock at night next Thursday, you’ll be dead’.”

Next Thursday, September 30, 1955, James Dean got into his famous accident and immediately died. So, can Alec Guinness tell the future? Or he just made this story up 20 years later? We’ll never know.

Arthur C. Clarke

In 1976, Arthur Clark predicted the Internet in pretty astonishing detail. He said that people will be able to exchange of information, pictures and graphics via high definition television. He also predicted Internet pages, with special places to get news or sports, and also the demise of the newspaper. Moreover, he also spoke about mobile communication, like the cellular phone and even the Apple Watch. So, is he a soothsayer or a time traveler?

John Brunner

In 1969 John Brunner wrote a science fiction novel set in early 2010s America called Stand on Zanzibar. The president in his book is a black man named Obami.

Moreover, he predicted the DVR, the decriminalization of marijuana, named China as the main rival of the US (not the Soviet Union), satellite news, the European Union, terror threats in the US, and even avatars (icons on the Internet, not the movie).

What do you think, are they soothsayers or it’s just an accident?
