Many stunts in this movie were performed IRL and Lin-Manuel Miranda said that one of these effects was “the hardest 10 seconds” of his life.
“There’s one scene in this movie where I light a lamp, ride a bike, steal an apple from a cart, throw it to an orphan child, all while singing in a Cockney accent. And that moment was the hardest ten seconds of my life. I’m sure there are takes of me just absolutely WHACKING orphan children with apples,” Miranda said.

Henry Golding didn’t want to audition for Nick Young in this movie at first, because he thought that they needed “a legitimate actor.”
“It’s my first ever movie. I’ve been a presenter in studios, I was a travel host for seven years, and I wasn’t in that frame of mind,” Golding said. “So when the offer came, I was like ‘Oh my god, I’ve heard of this, but it’s for someone else who’s a legitimate actor that the studio is going to gamble on.'”

Tom Cruise always wants to do all of his stunts himself, but one time he got seriously injured.
“That’s the stunt, I hit the side of the wall, then I’m supposed to run past the camera, I knew instantly it was broken, we got the shot, and both those shots are in the movie. I was just like, ‘Sorry guys, it’s broken, take me to the hospital,’ Cruise said.

After the release of the trailer for this true story movie, the REAL David Duke contacted the REAL Ron Stallworth because he was “concerned about his portrayal” in the movie.
“He’s only seen the trailer and in the trailer, it makes him out to be a buffoonish, cartoonish idiot,” Stallworth said.

Toni Collette didn’t want to take part in this movie because she was tired of doing “heavy” films.
“I had specifically said, ‘I’m sick of heavy, I don’t want to cry all the time at work anymore. I want to make some funny movies,'” Collette said. “My agent called and said, ‘I know what you said, but you need to read this.’ And he was right. I loved it.”

Lara Jean’s lock screen was not scripted. Actually, it was a picture that was taken on the set of Lana Condor and Noah Centineo napping together.
“That was actually one of our crew members who took that photo. They actually were sleeping on the couch like that, so we just stood over them and took that picture and it’s so friggin’ cute,” director Susan Johnson said.
