70th Annual Emmy Awards Nominations and EXCLUSIVE Predictions of Winners
Finally, it happened. The 70th Annual Emmy Awards nominations are here and we all can now spend time guessing who’ll win the categories.
So did Nexter.org and made up a list with possible winners in 2018 basing on our editors’ team vision.
Who’ll win?
The 70th Annual Emmy Awards will be held, Monday, September 17th at the Microsoft Theater and will air on NBC.
Colin Jost and Michael Che will serve as co-hosts at the event. The pair is probably both most well-known for their work on Saturday Night Live.
Game of Thrones which was out of the running last year returned to lead the way with 22 total nominations. Saturday Night Live and Westworld each netted 21. The Handmaid’s Tale followed with 20.
This year’s nominations, announced Thursday, were a mix of the good, the bad, the surprising and the boring, with the Emmys getting it just a little more right than wrong, a rare occurrence.
Although many of the nominees were returning favorites, the academy was far more willing to honor newer, diverse and quirky entrants into the TV landscape.
What else is special about this year’s nominations is that for the first time in 18 years, HBO did not receive the most nominations.
So, basing on our editors’ team choice and taking into account the general rate of the TV shows in the nominations, Nexter.org made up its own predictions about who will win the Emmy in 2018.
