We think that nobody would argue with the fact that Fortnite, more specifically – Fortnite Battle Royale, is currently the biggest video game in the world. And it already turned in something more than just a game.

Drake and Ninja in one team
Ninja is a popular streamer who mostly plays an even more popular game – Fortnite and this year he created a team with one of the biggest pop stars on the planet Earth – Drake. This was one of the most iconic moments of 2018.
Season 4 and the meteor path
Fortnite always has some surprises and puzzles stored for its players. This time people noticed a meteor’s path across the sky at the end of Season 3 and they knew that this is a sign of something else, something bigger. And they were right.
At the beginning of Season 4, everybody saw that this meteor’s path turned out to be a map which hit the location known as Dusty Depot and altered the landscape of Fortnite Battle Royale’s single, sprawling map.
Thanos in Fortnite
Partnership with Marvel was a big and epic deal. Thanos literally came in Fortnite and all players had a chance to transform into this huge, purple, super powerful villain with a universe-stomping golden glove.
“Take the L” makes a World Cup appearance

During the July 15 finals match-up between France and Croatia, French player Antoine Griezmann scored a penalty shot which led France to victory. Although it was not the score that made this moment unforgettable, it was his celebratory dance.
Antoine performed a Fortnite dance – “Take the L” which was immediately recognized by a worldwide community of players.
Fortnite Mobile

Battle Royale made its way to iOS in March 2018 and showed up for Android in July. Usually, such big games don’t create mobile versions but a huge number of players of the game want to have an opportunity to play wherever they can, so it seemed reasonable to make Fortnite Mobile.

The launch of the Epic Games Store was a huge deal. It is a number one competitor to Steam and other game-peddling online retailers and it had some very promising indies locked in as exclusives right away. Moreover, it offered developers and publishers a bigger cut of sales money than others.
Creative Mode
Creative Mode was launched this December and it created a whole new way to interact with the game for the players – you get your own island where you can build whatever you want. It adds a new layer of creativity into a game. We’ve already seen people recreate maps from Counter-Strike, the Dunder Mifflin office from The Office TV show and many others.
