Bye, Insta

The rapper 50 Cent (whose real name is Curtis Jackson) said goodbye on Wednesday to the popular social network Instagram, sharing an image of himself in a sharp suit and tie, raising a glass of rosé wine.

“I’m leaving IG, I’m going back to Twitter,” he said in a post shared with his 17.9 million followers. “They take shit down off my page with out notifying me. #censorthesenuts.”

The reason is that Instagram removed content from his account. According to the music industry blog HotNewHipHop.com, the content in question was a screenshot of a sex tape of the musical artist Teairra Mari.

“Recently, my social media was compromised by someone who I felt was deserving of my love and trust,” Mari posted on her Instagram page. “That person proved to be untrustworthy and posted footage of what in the moment was private and sacred.”

She added, “Revenge Porn is a crime in California and I will be in pursuit of justice.”

One more recent hedlines making thing happened connected with bitcoins, of course.

As Nexter.org reported, 50 Cent accepted bitcoin for purchases of his 2014 album, Animal Ambition.

The value of those sales has skyrocketed and the rapper’s bitcoin holding was reportedly worth more than $7.5 million at that moment.

“Not Bad for a kid from South Side, I’m so proud of me,” 50 Cent wrote in an Instagram post citing TMZ’s story about his unexpected windfall.

The reason he said about the coins only recently is very amusing: “I’m a keep it real. I forgot I did that s***”, Curtis Jackson said.

or not Millionaire?

However the happiness didn’t last long. Just weeks after, he has denied that he made millions by selling an album for Bitcoin!

According to court documents, 50 Cent actually did accept Bitcoin as payment for “Animal Ambition”, but it was converted to US dollars right away by a third party, Central Nervous, LLC. 50 Cent commented that rumors about his BTC holdings were “favorable to [his] image or brand, even if the report is based on a misunderstanding of the facts.”

The rapper added that as a matter of course, he will not deny any press coverage, be it true or false, so long as it helps enrich his public image and further his personal brand.

Punching a fan

One crazy inccident happened in 2017 during 50’s concert.

50 was performing with The Lox at Baltimore Soundstage when he reached into the crowd to shake hands and a woman in a flowered dress grabbed his arm and pulled him off the stage. The rapper appears to have thrown the punch to free himself from her grasp.

The woman went to the hospital the next day and hired a lawyer to sue Jackson.
