Fired from Fox News, Bill O’Reilly denies the allegations of The New York Times in harassment of his former colleague.

After the wave of sexual harassment charges was rocked to Harvey Weinstein, new incidents including other famous people are blowing a whistle.

This time, The New York Times reported that Bill O’Reilly had paid $32 million to settle a case of allegations of sexual harassment in January 2017.

Bill O’Reilly the Fox News Channel journalist and hoster of The O’Reilly Factor show until 2017. His show was very popular and had the highest rates for 16 years. Media analyst Howard Kurtz once described him as “the biggest star in the 20 year history at Fox News“.

No longer a secret

In a draft of a lawsuit that hadn’t made public, former Fox News legal analyst Lis Wiehl said O’Reilly had sexually harassed her over an extended period, sent her gay pornography, and that they had a “nonconsensual sexual relationship.” Wiehl signed an affidavit attesting she had no complaints against either O’Reilly or Fox News. She worked with O’Reilly for 15 years.

“Nobody pays $32 million to anybody for false accusations,” – commented former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson.

According to The New York Times, there were at least six similar agreements connected with accusations against Bill, while O’Reilly claims that in more than 20 years there weren’t any complaint against him even on the anonymous hotline.

Former Fox News star Megyn Kelly also blamed  former Fox host in her new daytime slot at NBC’s Today:

“O’Reilly’s suggestion that no one ever complained about his behavior is false. I know, because I complained.”

“It’s politically and financially motivated”

The parent company – 21st Century Fox – supposed to know about the women complaints, and despite this, it extended his contract for four years paying $25 million a year. O’Reilly was fired only in April 2017.

Anyway, Bill O’Reilly rejects the accusations, he says it’s all politically and financially motivated.

“And we can prove it with shocking information, but I’m not going to sit here in a courtroom for a year and a half and let my kids get beaten up every single day of their lives by a tabloid press that would sit there, and you know it,” – he claimed in an interview.

The same message he shared on his websitу filing the fact to refute the accusations.

“The New York Times has maliciously smeared Bill O’Reilly, this time even failing to print a sworn affidavit from his former lawyer, Lis Wiehl, repudiating all allegations against Bill O’Reilly. The Times ignored that evidence, sworn under oath, and chose to rely on unsubstantiated allegations, anonymous sources and incomplete leaked or stolen documents”, – it’s written on his webpage.
