3 Dead After Powerful and Devastating Tornado Hit US, Department Issued Warning and Evacuation

“Catastrophic” damage from Tornado in Missouri
Jefferson City, the capital city of Missouri, has suffered major damage because of the devastating tornado.
National Weather Service stated that tornado was seen in Jefferson City, at 11:43 p.m., moving northeast at 40 mph.
In Jefferson City, the state capital, there is extensive damage along Ellis Boulevard near Highway 54. Power lines are down. Traffic is being diverted as @MSHPTrooperGHQ & local first responders go door-to-door. Consider all power lines live.

“Major tornados across the state tonight, including Jeff City,” Parson wrote.
“We’re doing okay but praying for those that were caught in damage, some are still trapped – local emergency crews are on site and assisting.”

The tornado was moving across the Golden City area in Missouri, northeast of Joplin bringing major structural damage along Ellis Boulevard near Highway 54.
Also, the flash flooding remained a threat as long as the rain continued.

Jefferson City police Lt. Dave Williams stated that 10 homes were in the mandatory evacuation area.

The Missouri Department of Public Safety said: “Law enforcement can confirm three fatalities in the Golden City area of Barton County and several injuries in the Carl Junction area of Jasper County.”
