So, folks here comes the 46th AMAs that will go on ABC on Tuesday, Oct.9, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
The show will broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and will be hosted for the second year in a row by black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross.

Among other best-in-genre categories, the AMAs will award fan favorites like tour of the year, favorite social artist and collaboration of the year.
AMAs performances
The star-studded 2018 AMAs performance lineup includes Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello, Taylor Swift and Dua Lipa, to name just a few. The show promises other special highlights including Panic! at the Disco’s performance of “Bohemian Rhapsody” paying homage to Queen and a tribute to the late Aretha Franklin.
Unfortunately, Imagine Dragons has pulled out from playing the 2018 American Music Awards.
The band made the announcement on social media Saturday (October 6), citing private matters for their resignation from the annual music ceremony. “We’re very sorry to share that we’re no longer able to perform at this year’s @AMAs due to a personal family matter,” the group shared in a statement on Twitter over the weekend. “Sending lots of love to the other performers, and we’ll be there in spirit.”
By the way, Taylor Swift will open the American Music Awards. She will perform “I Did Something Bad” off her 2017 album, Reputation album.

Who is nominated?
With eight nominations each, Drake and Cardi B are tied for first place. Taylor Swift has four nominations this year: Artist of the Year, Tour of the Year, Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock and Favorite Album – Pop/Rock. She has won 19 awards over the years. Her first was in 2008.

YouTube has officially released their predictions for the night. As fans will be voting for the winners, the platform has high hopes for Drake.
Following U.S. views for artists and songs across YouTube dated Sept. 30, 2017 to Sept. 30, 2018, the rapper is predicted to snag seven awards, including artist of the year, favorite song Pop/Rock, Favorite song Rap/Hip-Hop, favorite artist Rap/Hip-Hop, favorite male artist Rap/Hip-Hop and favorite music video.
Ed Sheeran and Cardi B get some nods, and so do breakout artists Ella Mai and Kane Brown.
