’13 Reasons Why’ is an American mystery teen drama television series based on the 2007 novel Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher and adapted by Netflix. The series reveals the painful truth about the reason why Hannah Baker, a teenage girl, killed herself and left 13 cassette tapes.

Another school student, Clay Jensen, as her friend tries to understand what really happened to the girl while she was alive. The whole process of listening to the tapes makes him suffer and change his worldview completely.

At the end of the season 1, Clay finds out everything about the accident and questions all people around him, including his friends, school authorities, parents, and life.

Beyond the reasons

The second season to show the characters lives before and after the suicide. Also, the creators decided to step closer to the relevant problem of the last decades – sexual assault and abuse. These questions will be the top ones in the next episodes.

Moreover, the show will talk about gun violence, friendship, trust between parents and kids, school counselors’ ignorance and many more.

Warning video before the season

Netflix warns the audience that topics risen in the show are not the simple ones. At the same , the show encourages to talk about these problems, to reach out to parents and close friends if you have something to share.

Netflix is also adding crisis resources, a viewing guide and asks to call a local helpline or visit 13ReasonsWhy.info.

They hope ’13 Reasons Why’ will help to start a conversation.

Netflix conducted survey 

A research survey shows that 13 Reasons Why made teens talking about topics like mental health, assault, and bullying. 5,000 viewers of varying age groups — teens, young adults, and parents — from the U.S., U.K., Brazil, Australia, and New Zealand were tested.

The survey shows that almost 70% of students started talking about serious topics with their parents after watching the show.

Data announcement 

’13 Reasons Why’ is back again with the new season, and the trailer prepares us to be ready a new pack of teenage difficulties. They will have to deal with adult problems even though they are still kids.

The season 2 kick off on May 18, 2018.
